6a) Then Pilate called together the leading priests and other religious leaders, along with the people, and he announced his verdict. “You brought this man to me, accusing him of leading a revolt. I have examined him thoroughly on this point in your presence and find him innocent. Herod came to the same conclusion and sent him back to us. Nothing this man has done calls for the death penalty. So I will have him flogged, and then I will release him.” Then a mighty roar rose from the crowd, and with one voice they shouted, “Kill him, and release Barabbas to us! (Barabbas was in prison for taking part in an insurrection in Jerusalem against the government, and for murder.) Pilate argued with them, because he wanted to release Jesus. But they kept shouting, “Crucify him! Crucify him!” For the third time he demanded, “Why? What crime has he committed? I have found no reason to sentence him to death. So I will have him flogged, and then I will release him.”
But the mob shouted louder and louder, demanding that Jesus be crucified, and their voices prevailed. So Pilate sentenced Jesus to die as they demanded. As they had requested, he released Barabbas, the man in prison for insurrection and murder. But he turned Jesus over to them to do as they wished.

(2a) Eli's sons were Hophi and Phinehas. They were worthless men. They had no regard for the Lord and they treated the offerings and sacrifices people brought for God with contempt. The practice was that when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servants would come while the meat was boiling, with a three prolonged fork in his hand, he would thrust into the pan or kettle or pot, all that the fork brought up, the priest would take for himself.
Their sins were very great in the sight of God which brought about some negative effects on Israel which includes:
    (i) There was a war between Israel and the Philistines, the two sins of Eli died on the same day.
(ii) The art of God was taken away from Israel.
(iii) Eli was unable to see vision because of the defect.
(iv) Eli could not hear or even see.
    (v) Eli collapsed falling from his seat in such a way that he break his neck and died on the same day as his two sons.
(vi) The wife of Phineas who was pregnant upon receiving the news concerning the defect of Israel gave birth to a premature son, named "Ichabod" meaning the glory of God has departed from Israel.

(9a) Peter encouraged Christians to be firm in their faith knowing that suffering was the lot of the entire brotherhood of Christians, all over the world. However, he assured them that the God of grace who called them to eternal glory in Christ, would not only restore and establish them but would strengthen them. In other words

    - Our practice of Christianity requires the manifestation in our lives, the teachings and examples of Jesus Christ.

-Obedience to the civil authorities, and all human institutions for the well-being of the society, is an important Christian requirement.

-Suffering on account of Jesus without a justifiable reason attracts great blessing.

-The practical life of a Christian produces a greater result in the conversion of the unbeliever than preaching and teaching.

9b) I)A lack of common understanding

8a) James makes it clear that those who trust God don't merely become experts at listening to God's Word. It means you may read the word of God, but if you don't practice it, you will loose all the wisdom and blessing God has in store for you. Therefor do not deceive yourself into thinking that reading alone is all it takes. To believe is to act on what we hear. Faith in Christ is not just the map; it's the actual journey. Merely nodding our heads at the Word is not enough. We need to do what the Word tells us to do. We need to figure out which way God wants us to go, and then actually go that way. He went on to say that one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
If we don't, we demonstrate that we don't truly trust the Father, at least not in that moment.

    (8b)
    (i) Selfishness
    (ii) Disobedience

5a) Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.
"Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants.
    When he began the reckoning, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents;
and as he could not pay, his lord ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made.

So the servant fell on his knees, imploring him, `Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.'
And out of pity for him the lord of that servant released him and forgave him the debt.
But that same servant, as he went out, came upon one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and seizing him by the throat he said, `Pay what you owe.'
So his fellow servant fell down and besought him, `Have patience with me, and I will pay you.'
He refused and went and put him in prison till he should pay the debt.

When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their lord all that had taken place. Then his lord summoned him and said to him, `You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you besought me; and should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?' And in anger his lord delivered him to the jailers, till he should pay all his debt. So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart."

5b) No limit to granting forgiveness and pardon jesus*

makes it clear that there is no limit to giving and receiving forgiveness.

II) *Jesus paid our ransom to set us free from the debt of sin*

No offense our neighbor can do to us can compare with our own personal debt to God for offending him! We have been forgiven an enormous debt we could not repay on our own.

III)*Forgiving others is a sacred duty*

If God has shown mercy to us in granting us pardon for our sins, then we, in turn, must show mercy and forgiveness towards every person who has offended us.
